We got back from the Northern Light tour late on Wednesday night, (and I wasn't feeling the best), so we slept in a little bit on Thursday, and then went to the Blue Lagoon. It's a geothermic spa, so even though it was freezing outside, the water kept us nice and warm.
After we dried off and bundled up, we drove to see Seljalandsfoss - a waterfall that you can walk all the way around.
I remember being s.o. c.o.l.d. here. With the wind and the spray coming off the waterfall, I was just freezing. Dan bought me a cup of hot cocoa. :)
It really is a majestic sight
Lots of tour busses come here. Thankfully, we finished up right before a bus full of people pulled in.
Right on my head...haha
I loved the simple, yet elegant churches that dotted the countryside.
A little fairy house :)
There is so much rugged beauty in Iceland. The ocean looked so harsh crashing against the black sand beach.
Overlooking Vik, the southernmost city in Iceland
We ate dinner at a restaurant in Vik - pizza with four different kinds of Icelandic cheese. They served jam with the pizza - different for sure!
Our trusty little car
We read our fair share of maps on this trip...
