The Lately {June Edition}

Goal: Read a book a month, read through the Bible in a year
Currently Reading: "One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are", by Ann Voskamp. Read her blog for years, finally getting around to reading her book! Also, the book of Psalms in my Bible in a year plan

Goal: Memorize the Sermon on the Mount
Currently Memorizing: Matthew 6:1-4 "Beware of practicing your righteousness before others in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you..."

Goal: Pray through the Voice of the Martyrs "Persecuted World" Calendar
Currently praying for: Malaysia

Miscellaneous Items of Interest:

-So grateful the humidity broke last night. Our air conditioning isn't working, and it's been so hot in the house. The breeze feels heavenly.

-Mexico in 8 days! For some reason, I was totally thinking that there were 2 weeks left in June. Only one?!? I'd better start packing!

-I started a new job last week. I'm working with a company called "Mom 365", a company that contracts with hospitals to take newborn photos. Right now, I'm splitting time between United and Regions in St. Paul. It's so fun to see all the sweet newborn babies. :-)

-Some friends are coming over tomorrow to play corn hole. That will be fabulous.

-This weekend is calling for strawberry picking (which calls for strawberry pies, strawberry doughnuts, and strawberry sauce over ice cream), a Twins game, making the switch to a smart phone, and a photo shoot. Sounds lovely.

-I know I posted this recipe the other day, but seriously, you should try it. A perfect summer dessert. Ella and Whitney tried them yesterday. Ella said it should be on the Food Network. Seriously. Delicious.
