As I previously mentioned, I was at the V last weekend for my college graduation. It was a great time of celebration and pausing to reflect on God's faithfulness over the past 21 months. It will be exciting to see where the Verity class of '12 goes from here...scientists, businessmen, communicators, statesmen, musicians. Wherever we go, I pray we will remember the exhortations we heard last weekend. The reminder that our most important calling is to serve those around us and go and make disciples of the nations. May it be said of our class that:
"Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob."
"Standing on this mountaintop
Looking just how far we’ve
come,
You were with us.
Kneeling on this battle
ground
Knowing every victory
Was Your power in us.
Scars and struggles on the
way
But with joy our hearts can say,
Yes, our hearts can say:
Never once did we ever walk alone,
Never once did You leave us
on our own,
You are faithful, God, You are faithful.
Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say:
Never once did we ever walk alone.
Never once did we ever walk alone.
Carried by Your constant grace,
Never once, no, we never walk alone.
Every step we are breathing in Your grace
Evermore we’ll be breathing
out Your praise
You are faithful, God, You are faithful
-Matt Redman
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
'The Lord is my portion', says my soul,
'Therefore I hope in Him!'
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the Lord."
