Mexico!

Part 3: Monday...

Monday was our first day of working in the print shop. We worked all morning.

We assembled the book of John and the book of Romans

When we walked into the print shop, we were greeted with a bucket turned upside down with a note attached to it saying "Be Careful! =)" Nathan, who is in charge of the print shop, lifted it up and revealed a tarantula. =O

He was a pretty big little fellow

Mr. Godin, Tyler, Gabe, and Anna

Ari...I don't think she wiped that smile off her face the whole week. =)

Ryan (affectionately known as R.J. =P )

Me! =) (Also known as...well, I won't get into all the nicknames I was given down there)

The guys worked hard to fix the ceiling in one of the printing rooms...

...well, at least most of them did... ;)

After our John- Romans "trees" got big enough we would put them on a cart...all ready to go through the cutting and stapling machine!

John-Romans everywhere! =)

Here they are coming out of the machine...all cut to size and stapled together. All that's left is to...

...count and box them! Ryan kept me laughing =D

Gabe and Ryan taping up the boxes chock-full of John-Romans...330 in each, to be exact (that is if Ryan and I counted right ;) )

Miss Betty - this little lady has worked at the BPS print shop every day they've been open for the past 16 years!

We assembled over 3,000 John-Romans on Monday...

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there,
But water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." Isaiah 55:10-12

Heading into Mexico!!!

My little bus-buddy: Melissa

Pretending to be shy =)

The guys working on setting up the equipment at the park

I was surprised at how nice the park was

Mr. Jarvis numbering the guys (Matt, also known as "Happy", Dan, also known as "Bashful", Dan B., also known as "Doc", Rob, also known as "Grumpy", Bill, also known as "Sleepy", Mr. Godin, Josh, also known as "Dopey", Tyler, Ryan, and Gabe) into the groups to go out into the neighborhood. So, about all those Dwarf names...There were 7 guy workers down there, three of whom were named "Daniel" (Daniel H. also known as "Sneezy" is missing in the photo above). There was also one girl, so they each picked a dwarf name and were "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs" =)

I was also surprised at how nice the houses looked in the neighborhood we were in

While we canvassed the nighborhood, Mr. Jarvis drove through the streets playing music and advertising the meeting with his "títere"

A little girl reading the John-Romans we had just given her

Face painting back at the park...it was a big hit with the kiddos

 Allie (Snow White) at work...

Anna showing a little girl her "perro"

Hector working with the kids

Everyone watched so eagerly

And oh, the brilliant sunset Monday night...

(unedited)

"From the rising of the sun to its going down, the Lord's name is to be praised." Psalm 113:3

Allie and Hector - seeing who could call out the most puppets - the niños or the niñas. Poor Allie, the niños won every time. =)

The kids loved the puppets!

Even the older kids and adults would get a kick out of them.

A lot of people showed up to this meetings, and Mr. Jarvis estimated that around 60 responded to the invitation afterwards...Soli Deo Gloria!

Hector sharing the Gospel with the chalk talk going on behind him.
