Story Book Lodge

Every year, my church heads up north for an amazingly fun, refreshing (that adjective could certainly be debated - sometimes I think I come home more exhausted than when I left - but it's a good kind of exhaustion...), and edifying weekend. The pictures below are just a snapshot of what takes place...there is much more. From the delicious home-cooked meals that the staff so graciously prepares for us, to the morning Bible studies, to softball, to the game of Ultimate Frisbee, that this year, was all too short. The weekend always flies by, leaving us looking forward to next autumn, when we will once again pack our bags and head up north...

So, first off, a small glimpse of the camp...

I think that the pumpkin is one of the coolest cabins they have.

And now, how we fill our days...and nights...

Football...

 Hula-hooping...

Organized group games...

The game brains - Mr. Alzen and Mr. Hall

Basketball...

Hanging out with friends...

And simply enjoying the beauty that is so vividly painted around us...

At night, we enjoy good music...
"Loving God, loving each other...and the story never ends."

"They all cried hallelujah..."

And great teaching. This year we had the privilege of having Jack and Cherri Jarvis, missionaries with Bearing Precious Seed, with us for the weekend.
"A compromise is never God's best. He doesn't want 99% of us, He wants 100% of us."

After chapel, we often sing songs around a bonfire...
"Let God arise..."

And something about there once being an Indian maid... =P

After that, it's gym time!!

Lightning fast games of "Around the World" and Ping Pong

 Lots of volleyball...

Taylor...yes, we do accept him...even if we don't accept his insistence on being a Yankees fan... ;)

 And pool...

And...the night couldn't end without some more games over at the
dining hall...here, we have our avid word-game crowd...

  2. Ah, you bring SB so nicely to me in these pictures. My absolute favorite shot is the one of the girls singing around the bonfire. That picture is alive!
