#WanschurasHopThePond: London Part 2

It was raining on Monday morning, so we decided to hit some more of the museums on our list. Our first stop was the Churchill War Rooms. What a fascinating visit! They are a couple of rooms underneath the government rooms, from where Churchill and other leaders ran the war during the bombing of London.

"You have enemies? Good. It means you have stood for something."

How cool to look at how they had all their maps laid out!

Churchill was such a bulldog

After the War Rooms, we took at stroll through Saint James Park, ate our sandwiches in the rain, and did some people watching

One of my favorites....

Hanging out in front of Buckingham Palace!

Queen Victoria

"Send the bill to Buckingham Palace!" -Eliza Doolittle, My Fair Lady

The Queen's coach

The car that Kate Middleton road to Westminster Abbey in on her wedding day

One of the fist coaches to be used at the palace

Following in our grandparents' footsteps

This kind bobby indulged us, and helped us recreate their photo

"The Monument" erected after the 1666 fire that ravaged London

The view from the top...worth the 311 step climb!

"This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, this precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,—this blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England."
-Shakespeare

"London Calling"

Love the double-decker buses! (And yes, we rode on the top of one)

My favorite corner in London. Pictures don't really do Big Ben justice. It is an impressive building.

House of Parliment

Richard the Lionheart

Trafalger Square

I love all the reflections from the wet street

Another favorite

The Prime Minister's house is behind this gate

This is London.

Shooting at night was so much fun!

The London Eye
