On the menu: Chicken Stir Fry, Cobb Salad, and Chicken Salad.
Last summer, my brother, Dan, and I were in the play "Oliver!" When I cook, I think of one of the songs we sang, "Food, glorious food! What is there more handsome? Gulped, swallowed, or chewed - still worth a king's ransome..."
Mom was cooking too...chicken noodle soup and banana bread...yeah, our house smelled pretty good!
My least favorite part of cooking...all the dirty dishes!
Ok Meg, That stir fry looks alot like Mrs. W's. If it is, then you should have a)made extra for me to eat, or b)also added the recipe to the picture so we all could enjoy the tastiness of it for ourselves. :) Thanks Dana (a concerned reader)
ReplyDeleteDana, thanks for your concern. You're right, that is Mrs. W's stir fry. ;) Here is the recipe:
ReplyDeleteChicken Stir Fry:
2 T. Oil
1 1/2 C. Cauliflower
1 1/2 C. Broccoli flowerettes
1 C. 2" Julienne cut carrots (you can buy these already cut up and it will save a ton of time)
3 Chicken boneless, skinless breasts cut into 1" pieces
Sauce:
1/2 C. Miracle Whip
1 T. Soy sauce
1/4 tsp. ginger
Mix Together
Stir fry vegetables in 1T. oil 4-5 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat and put into bowl. Stir fry chicken. Add vegetables and sauce; mix well. Serve hot over cooked rice. (Makes 4 servings)
We usually double the chicken, use the whole head of broccoli and cauliflower, and triple the dressing. It's good leftover too. =)
Wow. If I was in your brothers state in life, I think I would hire you too!
